The HOT Student Travel Awards


Please, take advantage of this great opportunity. Mentors and Professionals, please spread the word! The deadline for all submission materials for the HOT Student Travel Awards for 2016 ICT Meeting in Merida, Mexico has been extended to August 31st!

This year HOT is proud to offer two student travel awards to attend the 2016 International Congress of Toxicology (ICT) to be held in Merida, Mexico:

  • The HOT Undergraduate Student Travel Award – 2016 ICT ($650)

  • The HOT Graduate Student Travel Award – 2016 ICT ($650)

These two Travel Awards are provided in part by funds from key HOT sponsors, BioReliance and the Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society (EMGS).

Please read below to learn eligibility and criteria for each award.

* IMPORTANT: Before applying, please check with your institution that you will be allowed to accept the award money, as some institutions (especially government) may have specific rules for accepting awards, and may not allow their trainees to receive an award funded by a for-profit company.

THE HOT UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD:

This award is offered to outstanding undergraduate students to help with the associated cost of attending and presenting their research at the 2016 International Congress of Toxicology (ICT). Applications are judged by a panel of scientists based on the scientific merits of the ICT-approved abstract (rationale and scope, experimental procedures, results, conclusions and advancement of toxicology) and a letter of recommendation from their mentor.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be undergraduate or graduate student

  • Applicant must be a HOT member (or applicant) of Latino/Hispanic origin

  • Applicant must be first author of the abstract submitted to the 2016 ICT

  • The awardees must be present for the 2016 ICT held in Merida, Mexico.

Applicant must submit the following:

  • A copy of the complete abstract accepted by ICT (late-breaking abstracts will be considered and awards will be conditional to acceptance)

  • A letter of recommendation from mentor (not to exceed one page)

All documents must be received by August 31st, 2016 by 11:59 p.m. EST.
